Knee High Socks

There's a chill in the air in DC this week. I had to take my sweaters out again. Maybe it's not too late to experiment with knee high socks and tights. I especially like the idea of knee socks layered over tights as they are in the top photo. Layering textures adds so much to an outfit. Yet it's something I often forget to do. I have to admit, I'm lazy when it comes to picking out outfits from my closet. Usually it's jeans and a top. I fall back on old stand by's. It's on my list of habits to break.

Military Style

I don't know why, but I've always been drawn to classic military style jackets. Maybe because I like structured cuts and the colors navy and army green - however crimson red jackets are also appealing. Here are a couple that I spotted on the Intermix website. Out of my price range but fun for inspiration.
